Five Areas of Focus

Where I’m building public expertise as a CDO/CAIO operator at the intersection of insurance domain depth and production AI. Each area links to the role-question it answers, the work I’ve shipped, the market signal I track, and what’s coming next.

01 — Document Intelligence at Scale

Convert insurance’s unstructured document estate into governed, decision-ready data. COIs, dec pages, endorsements, loss runs, SOVs, medical records — with ACORD-aligned schemas, full lineage, and E&O-grade accuracy thresholds.

02 — Reference Architecture for Regulated AI

Establish the deterministic-AI architecture for regulated decisions. Separate probabilistic understanding from deterministic action — six layers (intake, understanding, decision, action, truth, guardrail) that survive an E&O audit.

03 — Insurance Data Fabric

Build a unified semantic layer across AMS, policy admin, claims, and billing. Modern lakehouse with deterministic entity resolution — the precondition for analytics, AI, regulatory reporting, and M&A integration.

04 — AI Governance & Model Risk Management

Stand up MRM aligned to NAIC, Colorado SB21-169, NY DFS, and the EU AI Act. Compliance as a paved road, not a gate.

05 — P&L Attribution and Market Signal

Convert AI investment into measurable combined-ratio and producer-productivity gains. Every initiative tied to a named lever the CFO trusts.

Portfolio — Proof Points

Below: the projects, demos, papers, and recognition behind the five focus areas. Each focus page above cites these as evidence.

Insurance AI & Automation

Enterprise Data & AI Transformation — Snellings Walters Insurance Agency

Leading enterprise-wide data and AI transformation as Director of Data Analytics & AI Automation. Driving strategy, execution, and team building across analytics, BigQuery data lake, and agentic AI initiatives for a 70+ year old Atlanta insurance agency.

DocuScan AI — Enterprise Document Intelligence

Full-stack document intelligence platform replacing the paper-to-system pipeline for insurance agencies. Features AI-powered extraction with 5-factor confidence scoring, 8-stage processing pipeline, multi-org RBAC, and BigQuery integration with 323K+ policies. Built with FastAPI, React, LlamaParse, and LlamaIndex. Live at docuscan.5gvector.com

AI & Machine Learning

Nova Insurance Claims AI — Amazon Nova Hackathon

Insurance claims processing application powered by Amazon Nova foundation models. Automates claims intake, document analysis, and decision support for insurance adjusters. Built for the Amazon Nova AI Hackathon on DevPost.

ClaimSense AI — Insurance Claims Intelligence

AI-powered claims analysis demo with a companion training environment for model fine-tuning. Uses reinforcement learning to optimize claims routing, severity estimation, and fraud detection in insurance workflows.

Claims-Env — RL Environment for Insurance Workflows

Open reinforcement learning environment for training AI agents on insurance enterprise workflows. Simulates claims processing pipelines where RL agents learn optimal routing, prioritization, and resolution strategies. Tagged: reinforcement-learning, insurance, enterprise-workflows.

AIReturns — AI Tool ROI & Breakeven Analysis

AI Tool ROI and breakeven analysis platform for insurance agencies. Models manpower savings across InsurTech tools (Comulate, Fulcrum, Tailwind) with interactive cost inputs, FTE equivalents, 18-month projections, and combined vs. per-tool views. Built with FastAPI and React.

Kaggle Competitions

Stanford RNA 3D Folding — Bronze Medal

Predicted 3D atomic coordinates of RNA molecules from sequence data in this $75K Stanford University competition. Competed against 1,867 teams with techniques including geometric deep learning, coordinate regression, and ensemble methods.

March Machine Learning Mania 2026 — Bronze Medal

Forecasted 2026 NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournament outcomes in this $50K Kaggle competition. Competed against 3,462 teams using gradient boosting, Elo ratings, and probabilistic modeling to predict win probabilities across all possible matchups.

Healthcare & Data Science

RadTriage AI — Radiology Triage System

AI-powered radiology triage system that assists in prioritizing medical imaging cases by urgency. Uses deep learning for image classification to flag critical findings, reducing time-to-diagnosis for emergency cases. Built with Gradio.

Unifi.ai — Data Privacy Platform for Healthcare
